Empowering our local community through education, outreach and support.
Light Bridge, founded in April 2020 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering individuals in need within our community. Our mission is to create meaningful opportunities for those facing life’s most challenging circumstances by providing immediate assistance, long-term support, community education programs, and advocacy.
We believe in a community that supports one another, and through strategic partnerships, Light Bridge works closely with other community-based organizations to meet the diverse needs of our population. By collaborating with shelters, recovery programs, youth services, and advocacy groups, we work to ensure that no one is left without the resources and support they need to overcome life's challenges. Our collective efforts amplify the impact of our services, creating a unified response to the issues of childhood trauma, homelessness, food insecurity, substance addiction, and sexual exploitation.
Together, we strive to build a stronger, more resilient community where everyone has access to the tools and opportunities to thrive.
Founded is a compassionate outreach group dedicated to serving individuals in homeless camps. We provide hot meals, social connection, and a sense of belonging to those in need. Our team also offers mentoring support for individuals who are ready to get clean and sober, guiding them through their journey to recovery. At Founded, we believe that everyone deserves to feel valued, no matter their circumstances. We let those we serve know that their lives matter, and they hold a precious place in our community, regardless of the choices or circumstances they find themselves in.
With an understanding that Shasta County has some of the highest rates of childhood trauma in the state of California (HHSA 2012 ACE’s study), in addition to significant rates of poverty and food insecurity among youth (20.4- 24.3% US American Census Bureau), Wild On Purpose offers outdoor group activities that provide opportunities to help build resilience, develop life skills, and foster personal growth.
These activities not only provide emotional and physical benefits but also includes a shared meal, ensuring that youth have access to the nourishment they need for both their bodies and minds.
Recovering from childhood trauma isn’t just about surviving harmful experiences, but is also about creating positive memories and stable relationships that establishes hope for the journey ahead.
Wild On Purpose's Youth Explore program is primarily offered to underserved populations who typically lack equality of opportunity and may be statistically more at-risk of negative life outcomes.
The Set Free Life is a collection of services focussed on supporting individuals who have experienced sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and street prostitution. We understand the value of providing long-term mentoring and a safe space for healing as individuals work to rebuild their lives and regain their independence post-exploitation.
Our weekly Survivor Support Group provides an opportunity to process the harmful effects of their past and look towards a more thriving, hopeful future.
